* This role is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Oncology Nurse Practitioner to join our comprehensive cancer care and treatment centre.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced nurse practitioner to provide individualised support to our patients, focusing on quality of life throughout their treatment journey.

As an Oncology Nurse Practitioner, you will work closely with our oncologists to provide referrals and patient briefs for ongoing patient consultations. You will respond to questions and concerns, discuss treatment goals, and educate patients to improve their quality of life throughout treatment.

The successful candidate will have the skills and experience to diagnose, educate, and provide treatment for side effect-related morbidities and disease-related morbidities. They will prescribe medications to manage symptoms and undertake detailed investigations, including examinations and test ordering, to understand the underlying factors for morbidities and patient concerns.

You will also provide psychosocial support and refer to and coordinate with allied health specialists to ensure patients' other needs are met. The successful candidate will demonstrate high-level clinical leadership, teamwork, and development of workplace culture.

The ideal candidate will have a Master of Nursing Science (Nurse Practitioner) or equivalent, be registered with AHPRA, and possess a current practising certificate as a Nurse Practitioner. Several years of Oncology Nursing experience, ideally in medical and radiation oncology, are essential. Excellent communication and presentation skills are critical to establish rapport with our clients and patients.

Responsibilities:

* Work closely with Icon oncologists to receive referrals and patient briefs for ongoing patient consultations.
* Respond to questions and concerns, discuss treatment goals, discuss fears/worries, and generally educate patients to improve quality of life throughout treatment.
* Diagnose, educate, and provide treatment for side-effect related morbidities and disease-related morbidities.
* Prescribe medications to patients to manage side effects symptoms.
* Undertake detailed investigations, including examinations and test ordering, to understand the underlying factors for morbidities and patient concerns.
* Provide psychosocial support and refer to and coordinate with allied health specialists to ensure patients other needs are met.
* Demonstrate high level of clinical leadership, teamwork, and development of workplace culture.
* Work closely with ICON oncologists, nursing, and other staff members, sharing information to ensure appropriate patient care is always delivered.
* Maintain standards by ensuring best practice protocols and clinical guidelines are implemented and followed.

Skills and Experience:

* Master of Nursing Science (Nurse Practitioner) or equivalent.
* Registered with AHPRA and possess a current practising certificate as a Nurse Practitioner.
* Several years Oncology Nursing experience (Medical and Radiation ideally).
