Your part in The Wesley Hospital
The Patient Safety Officer will be responsible for various aspects of the hospital-wide patient quality and safety system.
They will provide expertise and leadership to support the incident management system and related patient activities for the purpose of measurably improving patient safety.
What makes a difference for us?
Essential
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant health-related discipline.
- Knowledge of risk management principles and issues regarding patient safety.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in health service delivery with appropriate clinical knowledge, experience and skills is essential including an understanding of care processes provided in multiple areas of a health care facility.
- Able to process sensitive information whilst maintaining confidentiality.
- Demonstrated experience in developing working relationships to achieve identified outcomes and an ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced computer skills including experience in the use of computer software (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
- Ability to self motivate, work independently and works well under pressure.
- Advanced knowledge of relevant legislation, acts, policies and the National Healthcare Standards
Desirable
- Experience in the hospital accreditation process is desirable
- Experience in leading or assisting with clinical investigations, including RCA is desirable
