Position overview The Planning and Architecture Program is seeking a talented and dynamic Enterprise Architect with significant strategic, communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills. The Enterprise Architect will have a focus on technology and can work in a strategic manner across all programs.
This role will assist in collating and developing Enterprise Technology Solutions to be used by all users at the Bureau, as well as in the development and maturity of the Planning and Architecture future state.
Under broad direction, the Enterprise Architect will have a focus on uplifting Environment design implementation and governance and will undertake or assist with the functions of:
Enterprise Adoption and Transformation including the input into the development, publishing and maintenance of various policies, procedures, guide, and reference artefacts to assist the Bureau technology use across all teams and programs. This will include activities such as:
Environments for use by all departments including Research, SIG, R2O, E&R;, BSG, CSG, DDG, ESG.
Input and Maintenance of the appropriate components of the Technology Reference Model (TRM).
Technology Roadmap Development: Set the strategic direction to support long-term technology planning and investment aligned to the business trajectory.
Technology Investment Planning: Assist GM Planning & Architecture with investment planning and recommendations to CITO where technologies matching business requirements are to be considered used.
Business Domain Architecture: Working with the Lead Architect, Chief Architect and other members of the Planning and Architecture team as well as operational staff across DDG to help develop and manage the Bureau architecture patterns and practices and generate solutions in accordance with business requirements.
The successful candidate will have:
Experience in, designing, developing and Implementing Solutions for Meteorological solutions including understanding of the ability to support 24 by 7 operationally critical systems, both on-premise, in the cloud or a hybrid.
Experience and understanding of the Bureau domains including Scientific Research and transition to Operations.
Well-developed engagement and communication skills.
The key duties of the position include The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
Assist the Lead architect in the creation and maintenance of technology reference artefacts.
Assist in developing patterns and solution and architectural building blocks as required.
Ensure high level designs are consistent with the Bureau's architectural principles and reference architectures.
Develop and present solution options, and guidelines for projects to develop, implement, test, operate, monitor, and sustain.
Ensure that solutions comply with Service Level Agreements and business continuity requirements.
Maintain key relationships with business areas and colleagues in the Data and Digital Group, SIG, and other key user groups.
Ensure Guidelines and Reference Architecture artefacts are defined and endorsed by the Architecture Review Group to allow implementation of the design.
