Job Overview
The role of an Electrical Infrastructure Asset Inspector involves the inspection, assessment, and reporting of overhead and underground power assets. This position requires a strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills for liaising with customers and landowners.
Key Responsibilities
* Inspect powerlines, power poles, and associated electrical infrastructure to identify defects and report them accordingly.
* Conduct vegetation assessments and issue notices to landowners regarding encroachments.
* Plan and scope maintenance and upgrade works to ensure the optimal functioning of electrical assets.
* Perform hands-on tasks such as replacing wires, repairing earths, and installing pole reinforcements.
Requirements
* A Certificate II or III in Electric Service Infrastructure (ESI) Asset Inspection is preferred.
* A White Card and a valid C-Class driver's license are required.
* Basic computer literacy in Excel, Outlook, and data entry on an iPad is necessary.
* Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently are essential.
* Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with customers and landowners.
Working Conditions
This is a dynamic and hands-on field-based role with long-term career prospects in the energy and utilities sector. The job involves working 10 days on and 4 days off, requiring occasional travel and staying away from home when needed.
