The Luminos Project (TLP) is non-medical, short-stay residential service for young people aged 16-24 experiencing thoughts of suicide. TLP is delivered in partnership with Ruah Community Services.
The Clinical Lead position is responsible for providing clinical services, care and advocacy for and on behalf of our Clients and expert guidance and support to Youth Suicide Counsellors, Intentional Peer Workers and Volunteers throughout TLP.
The Clinical Lead works closely with the Consultant Clinician and Team Lead to:
* Deliver the objectives of the program through provision of quality care and best practice;
* Build capacity and capability of Youth Suicide Counsellors, Intentional Peer Workers and Volunteers through coaching, mentoring and professional client-specific case supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Services
* Maintain clinical oversight of clients at all stages within the TLP program. This includes overviewing psychosocial formulations, safety plans and discharge plans.
* Provides trauma-informed, individual or group counselling to clients experiencing emotional, social and behavioural difficulties.
* Facilitates and develops programs/initiatives within the service that align with the purpose of the service.
* Assists clients to develop appropriate strategies to deal with their concerns.
* Works within an interdisciplinary team to develop appropriate responses, education and policy around client wellbeing issues.
* Ensures adherence to ethical guidelines and best practices in clinical psychology.
Quality and Risk Management
* Delivers services within the program area in accordance with accreditation requirements and service agreements.
* Reports on operational practice to identify issues relevant to the achievement of service model of care outcomes.
* Identifies and reports on service and client risk issues to the Consultant Clinician, Samaritans CEO and Team Lead in accordance with agreed procedures.
* Provides expertise advise on current and emerging issues relevant to the program area.
* Protects client information, security and privacy.
Clinical Supervision and Care
* Provides individual or group clinical supervision to Youth Suicide Counsellors.
* Collaborates with TLP Team Lead and highlights case management concerns and risks, or areas of improvement in the context of the relevant TLP service standards, procedures, and practices.
* Contributes to the review and development of workforce needs and requirements to ensure the achievement of outcomes in the program area of service.
Partnerships and Collaboration
* Ensures effective, respectful and professional communication with all stakeholders.
* Promotes and demonstrates inclusiveness, empathy and understanding in all interactions.
* Embraces diversity and difference in all interactions.
* Develops and maintains respectful and responsive relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
* Actively engaging with the broader community and appropriate organisations to foster greater collaborative practice in the interests of clients.
* Actively contributes to the positive public profile of the Samaritans WA, Ruah Community Services and the TLP initiative.
* Contributes to the assessment of existing stakeholder engagement strategies.
* Represents the Samaritans WA and TLP initiative on relevant government and community committees and attends events if appropriate.

* Ensures any reporting requirements are delivered in a timely and effective manner.
* Keeps time and attendance records as required
* Attends all meetings and participates effectively and constructively
* Undertake all other duties as required.
Job Related Requirements
Itisexpectedthatthesuccessfulapplicantwillbeabletodemonstratethe following:
* Experience in provision of clinical services to clients.
* Experience in working with clients with suicidal thoughts and behaviours.
* Experience in leading a successful team within a mental health and/or youth suicide service.
* Experience in direct service delivery to address client needs in a mental health and/or youth suicide service.
* Experience in managing for the achievement of client outcomes in a mental health and/or youth suicide service.
* Strong ability to respond in a timely manner to address competing client needs.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills, including strong skills in negotiation and consultation.
* Experience in developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships and stakeholder relationships.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Confident public speaking and presentation style.
Qualification and Compliance Requirements
* Qualification as AHPRA-registered psychologist, PACFA-registered counsellor or qualified social worker
* Current and Valid Working with Children Check
* Current National Police Certificate
