About the Role
This role is all about helping our community thrive sustainably. You'll lead initiatives that support local residents, businesses and community groups to reduce water use, cut emissions and embrace sustainable living. From delivering workshops and events to shaping policies and grants that directly benefit the community, you'll be a trusted connector bringing people together around shared environmental goals. You'll also play a key part in implementing our Climate Change Strategy and Pathway to Net Zero, ensuring the City's sustainability efforts reflect the needs and strengths of our community.
About you
You're passionate about making sustainability accessible, practical and meaningful for the people who live, work and play in our City. You build relationships easily, listen deeply and enjoy working with community groups, local organisations and colleagues to create positive change. With a strong understanding of sustainability and water conservation, you turn ideas into action and communicate them in ways that inspire and empower others. You're collaborative, organised and driven by a genuine commitment to supporting a healthier, more sustainable future for our whole community.
Besides demonstrated experience, you'll need to have:
* A degree in Sustainability, Sustainable Development and/or equivalent relevant experience.

Salary and Benefits: Starting from Level 6 ($101,353) City of Cockburn Industrial Agreement 2025 based on qualifications and experience.
