As a Cultural Learning Advisor you will:
Report to the Principal Learning Advisor and Manager about program objectives, risks and opportunities and contributing to high quality deliverables and continuous program improvement with focus on cultural safety and cultural capability.
Partner and collaborate with regions and central office stakeholders to appropriately contextualise legislative and policy settings, incorporate lived experience and place-based issues in CSLS work with service delivery staff, to achieve culturally responsive practice and promote cultural safety for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families.
Provide advice and implement agreed outcomes to integrate cultural knowledge and experience into CSLS projects, planning, processes, and activities.
Contribute to and/or deliver operational and strategic projects as directed by the Principal Learning Advisor and Manager.
Provide learning support for newly appointed frontline staff consistent with best practice and CSLS processes to support their role capability development in a way that is culturally informed, sensitive and responsive and consistent with legislative and policy settings relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
Deliver the approved module within role-specific mandatory training to child safety officers and other frontline staff in a classroom/group environment and contribute to the continuous improvement of the training module.
Influence and contribute to the scoping, planning, development and delivery of learning content and activities to complement existing training programs, improve role specific skills and boost performance for CSOs and STLs and other relevant staff.
Contribute actively as a member of the CSLS team to review, report on, and improve CSLS services and supports, ensuring alignment with the department's strategic plan and measurable outcomes.
Engage directly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander CSOs in a coaching or mentoring capacity, as requested by the CSO and through consultation with the Principal Learning Advisor, Manager, SLA, and the CSO's direct line manager.
Maintain high quality records, updating, monitoring and reviewing completions and participation for learning and development activities. Collect and analyse feedback and relevant data and contribute to regular reporting on individual and team activities and deliverables.
Manage competing demands while delivering consistent and high-quality support for participants engaged with the program, including an ability to manage priorities, respond and adapt to changes in requirements.
Your mandatory requirements

The possession of a current and valid 'C' class drivers licence.
Ability to undertake intrastate travel with and across regions including overnight and multiple night stays to meet identified service needs.
Highly desirable requirements
Possession of a degree in social work, human services, the behavioural sciences or legal studies from a recognised tertiary institution is non-mandatory but highly desirable.
Direct experience in frontline child protection is also highly desirable.
