Job Description
The primary objective of the Construction Project Manager is to oversee and direct all physical aspects of day-to-day working on construction projects, ensuring safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure timely completion of construction activities, focusing on incident-free operations.
* Deliver high-quality project outcomes within planned timeframes.
* Coordinate onsite activities in alignment with priorities set by the Site or Project Manager.
* Guarantee adequate manpower and resources to meet productivity goals.
* Provide leadership to on-site labor teams, ensuring safe and effective task allocation.
* Implement works according to contract design documents and shop drawings.
* Maintain effective communication with all project stakeholders.
* Keep accurate records on site, including daily site diaries and project inspection and test plans (ITPs).
* Familiarize yourself with all contract documentation, including drawings, specifications, schedules, the construction program, and relevant project plans and correspondence.
Occupational Health & Safety
* Evaluate and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
* Implement and adhere to the project's safety plan, guaranteeing safe work practices.
* Promote continuous safety awareness and identify areas for additional safety training.
* Verify that equipment and machinery are safe and well-maintained.
* Encourage and demonstrate correct and safe practices at all times.
* Contribute to developing and implementing project-specific safety procedures.
* Analyze safety audits and inspection reports, taking corrective actions as needed.
* Participate in investigations of accidents or incidents and contribute to safety meetings and programs.
* Monitor subcontractor compliance with the project's safety plan and procedures, in collaboration with the Project Manager.
Environmental Management
* Evaluate and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and legislation.
* Assess and adhere to site-specific environmental management objectives and targets.
* Implement and manage erosion and sediment control measures on site.
* Review and act on environmental reports, conducting regular environmental inspections.
* Investigate environmental hazard reports and ensure corrective actions are taken.
Quality Management
* Achieve adherence to the provisions of the Project Quality Plan.
* Manage and facilitate quality inspections throughout the project.
* Initiate, review, approve, and manage Project Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
* Maintain product and workmanship quality throughout the project.
* Resolve quality assurance issues, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
