About the roleThe Senior Procurement Capability Officer plays a crucial role in enhancing the procurement capabilities of Department of Education staff by designing and overseeing training programs that align with NSW policies and regulations. This includes conducting assessments to identify specific skill gaps, developing tailored training materials, and facilitating engaging workshops both in-person and online. The Senior Procurement Capability Officer ensures training is delivered in compliance with frameworks such as the NSW Public Works and Procurement Act 1912 while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. They measure the effectiveness of training through feedback and performance indicators, collaborate with various agencies to align programs with broader strategies, and provide ongoing support and resources to procurement professionals. Additionally, the Senior Procurement Capability Officer maintains detailed records to comply with reporting requirements and encourages a learning culture by staying informed on industry trends, ultimately balancing standardised training with the unique needs of different departments.
