**About the Role**
They are currently seeking a Service Finance Officer to join their high performing team in Goulburn. This is an estimated 8-month temporary assignment, with a strong potential to extend.
Working within the Shared Services & Customer Experiences Business Unit, you will providing financial, administrative and clerical services to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations.
**Responsibilities**
- Processing and monitoring payments and expenditures
- preparing and monitoring the payroll system
- Perform the day to day processing of financial transactions to ensure that municipal finances are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner.
- Deliver high level, professional customer service
- Answer enquiries within a timely and accurate manner
- Facilitate the resolution of complaints and escalations
- Clean and verify data updating into the system, maintaining master data
- Records and database management ensuring high integrity, accuracy and confidentiality
- Complete manual calculations and adjustments to ensure integrity of payments
- Capture, update and close tickets upon completion
- Verify and complete audits of other officers payroll processing to ensure accuracy and integrity
- Track, monitor and identify trends and issues, mitigating risks
- Contribute to continuous improvement strategies
- Ensure compliance with best practice and legislative requirements
**About You**
- 3-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Direct and lead the work of others
- Performs a variety of complicated tasks
- Public Sector experience highly advantageous
- Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written
- Professional, resilient and empathetic manner
- Superior organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting deadlines
- Solid analytical, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills

**Requirements**:
- Demonstrated Payroll, Accounting, Finance experience or in an equivalent field
- Extensive experience in a highly transactional payroll related environment
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency with MS office suite
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Willingness to undergo National Police Check
- Ability to commence and commit to the duration of the assignment
