About Our Mechanical Maintenance Apprenticeship
* This 4-year apprenticeship is designed to provide a nationally recognised qualification in Engineering (Mechanical) and equip you with the skills to work in a busy food manufacturing environment.
Upon successful completion, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of fixed plant and equipment including conveyors, high speed packing equipment, cooking vessels / boilers, pumps, gearboxes, pneumatics, and process line fixed plant.
The role involves contributing to safety initiatives, learning industry best practice for preventative maintenance & breakdown activities, and working on complex machinery.
Key Responsibilities
Working as part of our highly skilled Mechanical Maintenance teams, your key responsibilities will include:
* Contribute to safety initiatives to achieve a 100% commitment to safety, health and wellbeing in the workplace
* Learn industry best practice for both preventative maintenance & breakdown activities
* Use hand tools, electrical and pneumatic powered tools & equipment, lathes, machining equipment and welding techniques
* Sheet metal fabrication and problem solving & fault finding
* Work in a workshop environment and on the production floor, interacting and collaborating with wider Maintenance & Production teams
* Attend mandatory blocks of TAFE for the duration of the apprenticeship
* Contribute towards continuous improvement initiatives
