HeliSpirit is a leading tourism, charter and contract aviation company offering Scenic Flights and Tours, Luxury Helicopter Safaris as well as Mining and Charter services.
With a history of 38 years of helicopter operations, HeliSpirit's helicopter services are supported by its own maintenance facility.
The fleet consists of approximately twenty-five helicopters including AS350, B206, B206L, R66, R44 and R22 aircraft types.
Helispirit is locally owned, multi-award winning specialist when it comes to discovering Australia's north by helicopter and holds National Tourism Quality Accreditation and International Eco Tourism Certification.
Helispirit's head office is in Kununurra with additional bases located throughout the Kimberley, Pilbara and Northern Territory.
We are looking to fill the key management role of Service Operations Manager located in Kununurra.
The Service Operations Manager role will suit you if you are seeking a key management role in a successful and expanding aviation company spread over a large geographical area.
This key position is very client focused and will require the ability to deal with private, corporate and government clients whilst also managing the day-to-day operations of a highly complex helicopter operation in an efficient and organised manner.

About the role Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Service Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing day to day operations of the business whilst ensuring that Company policy is adhered to with a key focus on safety and continual improvement across all aspects of the Company operations.
The Service Operations Manager will be directly responsible to communicate with key clients in a professional manner, ensuring contractual and legal obligations are meet.
The role will also involve the development of new clients and business opportunities.
This is a full-time position based in Kununurra and will involve travel, particularly in the Kimberley and Pilbara.
Key duties and responsibilities
Manage key client relationships with regular communication, scheduled meetings and reporting to the General Manager.
Drive efficiencies of service operations to deliver profitable performance and assist in the development of new revenue streams.
Oversite of and management of the service operations planning to service the Company contracts and client requirements.
Provide leadership to support a customer service culture to deliver best practice outcomes in all areas of the business.
Manage all workplaces according to regulatory compliance measures and ensure adherence to the Safety Management System.
Be conversant with legislative requirements of the industry and assist in ensuring compliance.
Manage staff to deliver high performance outcomes, whilst fostering a positive and professional service orientated workplace.
Supervise operational staff at Kununurra (and remote bases as required).
Execute entrepreneurial activity to deliver new business and drive efficiencies from assets and human resources.
In consultation with the General Manager, ensure the service standards are met by managing the maintenance of the helicopter fleet in a manner that provides for maximum asset availability, coordinated completion of scheduled maintenance, maximum utilization of engineering personnel and development of contingency plans at times of unscheduled maintenance requirements.
Assist General Manager in all aspects of the HeliSpirit business and, from time to time, with associated Group businesses as required.
About You
Extensive aviation and service operations management experience
Considerable experience in a senior operations or management role within aviation or a related industry
Excellent levels of attention to detail, organisation and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to complete multiple tasks concurrently and efficiently
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate confidently and positively with a wide range of stakeholders, clients, and staff
Effective negotiation skills with the ability to convey complex and technical information ensuring understanding and relevance to audience
Act with integrity, honesty and respect at all times with well-developed problem solving skills and a high level of initiative
Ability to work in, foster and positively contribute to a team environment
Ability to effectively handle challenging and stressful situations with multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities
High personal/work standards at all times when representing the Company
Display openness to seek and embrace positive change
Computing skills commensurate with the role including Takeflite and Air Maestro (or similar), Microsoft Office and relevant flight planning programs
A tenacious attitude to completion of tasks to a high standard
Ability to handle confidential material responsibly
