THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Sales Support Officer (SSO) to join either our Brisbane-based team OR our Melbourne-based team. Reporting directly to the National Bunnings Sales Manager, this full-time role is responsible for providing essential support to the Sales team and third-party merchandising partners, while ensuring excellent service to our National Bunnings client base.
You will play a hands-on role in managing day-to-day operations, supporting trade and commercial sales growth, coordinating store setups, and providing insightful feedback to support national and state-based sales objectives.
This role is best suited to someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives in a cross-functional role that spans customer service, merchandising, and stakeholder engagement.
Key competencies and responsibilities:
Support daily operations and customer service for Bunnings stores nationally
Manage new store setups and liaise with merchandising teams
Coordinate and report on visual merchandising and store compliance (planograms, ticketing, stock levels)
Conduct store audits and prepare weekly audit reports
Act as a key point of contact for stock queries, complaints, and Bunnings web portal issues
Support sales CRM systems (including task and call planner adherence, PHR photography and data upload)
Liaise with internal teams (Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, Supply Chain, etc.) to ensure alignment with sales plans
Provide support in preparing and presenting sales reports and performance metrics
Deliver market feedback and intelligence to management to inform strategy
Participate in trade events, conferences and Bunnings engagement activities
Support inventory management and product pipeline planning
Travel regionally and occasionally interstate, as required and agreed
ABOUT YOU
You're a confident and reliable team player with a strong customer service focus, commercial acumen, and the ability to manage competing priorities. You're motivated by working hands-on in the field and being part of a high-performance sales support team.
You'll bring:
Demonstrated professional experience in sales support or merchandising
Prior experience working with or for Bunnings highly regarded
Knowledge of building or timber products preferred
Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent planning, time management, and prioritisation skills
Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively
Willingness and ability to undertake some manual lifting and regional travel
Valid Australian Driver's License (essential)
Physically fit and comfortable with in-store merchandising tasks
