We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Scheduling Lead/Maintenance Planner, ideally with experience in field operations or maintenance planning.
The primary focus of the role is to develop, prioritise, organise, schedule and monitor work orders to support the delivery of preventive maintenance, calibration, inspection, installation/upgrades and repair of our weather observing equipment, in accordance with the Bureau's maintenance program and service level agreements.
The successful candidate will liaise with stakeholder groups on moderate to very complex operational and system support tasks, review and contribute to working documentation, prepare and deliver reports and provide asset management system expertise where required.
Whilst working under the general guidance of the Operations Manager, the role will be significantly autonomous.
Who are you?
The successful candidate will need an in depth-knowledge of IBM Maximo (or be willing to be trained in the use of IBM Maximo), advanced excel skills, have exceptional communication skills, be empathetic, organised and service minded. They will also need highly developed prioritisation and field services planning skills and strong problem-solving and analytical skills. The Scheduling Lead will report directly to the Operations Manager and may have management responsibility for subordinate staff as required.
Who are we?
The Observing Operations Hubs are the Bureau of Meteorology's Technical Operations centres comprising of 8 Hubs, one in each capital city and Cairns.
Staff based at the Observing Operations Hub travel far and wide and into remote areas, utilising 4WD's, planes, boats, and helicopters to maintain service delivery within the various instrumentation networks. This includes:
* Rain Radars
* Automatic Weather Stations (AWS)
* Upper-Air monitoring systems (sounding balloons)
* Sea Level Monitoring Stations
* Wave and Wave height buoys
* Satellite ground reception and space weather instruments
* Flood warning / rainfall monitoring systems
* Co-operative observers, volunteer rainfall stations
* Communications, telemetry and instrumentation systems
We are part of a national maintenance workforce and there is the opportunity to travel to other parts of Australia.
