What's the role?
An exciting opportunity is available for a seasoned Senior Architect to complement our Chief Technology Office (CTO). This role involves working closely with business owners and stakeholders to understand their priorities, value drivers, and requirements.
Business direction will be translated into architectural and design decisions, requiring a balance between project-specific needs and broader architectural principles, including the identification of reusable design patterns and governance frameworks.
You will be responsible for influencing and securing alignment from technology development teams to ensure that detailed solution designs are consistent with overarching architectural strategies.
Additionally, you will be expected to actively contribute to the ongoing development of the architecture function, continuously learning and supporting the enhancement of architecture practices at Westpac.
What do I need?
* Highly developed Senior Solution Architect expertise in focussed on enterprise level event-driven architecture and domain-driven design, with specialised proficiency in the Akka framework.
* Extensive experience across multiple architecture domains with a proven track record of successfully delivering major business solutions into production across multiple project teams.
* Deep experience in Business Banking within the IT industry, financial services, or in business consulting and strategic planning (desirable).
* Proficient knowledge of distributed platforms and cloud computing technologies (desirable).
* Advanced leadership and stakeholder management capabilities, including facilitation and mentoring skills.
* Outstanding interpersonal skills and you can cater your language and style to suit your audience.
* Demonstrates strong analytical and technical skills with good planning and organisation.
