This graduate‐level role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‐on experience supporting kerbside waste, recycling and resource recovery services that make a real difference to the community and environment.
You will work alongside experienced professionals and across multiple teams to assist with projects, service reviews, data analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. The role supports the planning, delivery and evaluation of waste management and resource recovery projects and education programs, helping to improve operational efficiency, community experience and environmental outcomes.
Through this role, you will build practical skills in project support, stakeholder and contractor liaison, data interpretation, documentation and community engagement. You will also gain exposure to council strategies, regulatory frameworks and best‐practice waste‐minimisation principles, while assisting with compliance with Federal and State environmental sustainability policies and guidelines.

As a Graduate Waste Services and Projects Officer with Wyndham City Council, you will:

What you will bring:
* Degree or diploma course in Environment & Sustainability, Conservation, Ecology, Natural Resource Management or a related discipline (required)
* Foundational knowledge of waste management, resource recovery or environmental sustainability principles
* Understanding of project management principles with strong organisational and time management abilities
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage professionally with a wide range of stakeholders
* Competency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and strong general computer literacy skills
To be eligible for our Emerging Talent Graduate Program, you will have:
* Studied or currently living in Wyndham
* Graduated from the required course or a related field (listed in the position description) within 24 months of applying for a graduate role
* Eligibility to work in Australia and satisfactory completion of a police check
