Markets and Securities Services Overview
The Markets and Securities Services (MSS) division covers the distribution of Global Markets products and services to Institutional and Corporate clients, provides Securities Services on both a Global and Sub-Custody basis and is responsible for the Markets Treasury department.
Role of Markets Treasury
As a significant contributor to the revenue of the Group, Markets Treasury staff are located in over 50 sites worldwide, spanning various Group balance sheets.
Markets Treasury provides input into local Asset & Liability Management Committee (ALCO) and liaises extensively with matters related to Asset, Liability & Capital Management.
Your Role as Associate Markets Treasury
You will be part of the team responsible for managing funding, liquidity, structural interest rate risk and the investment portfolio of the Bank.
You will engage senior stakeholders across the bank and face external market participants.
Your responsibilities will span multiple facets of the bank, providing opportunities for career growth and expanding your global network through HSBC's global footprint.
Main Responsibilities
* Cash Management - Managing Cash Accounts with the Reserve Bank of Australia for two entities and foreign currency Nostro balances.
* Liquidity Management - Managing liquidity risk for the bank across multiple balance sheets in line with regulatory obligations.
* Funding – Involvement in internal discussions supporting decision making around the funding plan.
* Management of Interest Rate Risk (IRR) – Supporting the team in managing IRR transferred to Markets Treasury through internal transfer pricing processes.
* Capital, Market Risk and Credit Limits Management - Ensuring risk exposures are diligently reviewed.
* Analytics – Running monthly and quarterly reports and explaining business results broken down by product/book.
* Stakeholder Management - Working closely with Assets, Liability and Capital Management team and other Control Functions on issues regarding payments and cash management.
* Volcker Rule – Observing Volcker Rule and understanding its application criteria.
