As we continue to grow, we're looking for a reliable and skilled Drillers Offsider to join our dedicated and experienced Drilling team. We take pride in our strong reputation and invest in motivated team members who value quality, safety, and innovation.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role supporting bore construction and maintenance projects primarily across the Perth metropolitan and greater metropolitan areas. You'll be involved in all aspects of site setup, equipment operation, and bore construction.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the mobilisation and setup of drilling plant and equipment
* Support construction of drill pads and access requirements
* Safely assist in the operation of various drill rigs and support plant
* Assisting with tripping of drill rods and connection of required drill string components
* Undertake required drilling fluid preparation and ongoing mud conditioning requirements
* Install bore casing, screen sections, gravel pack, and cement grout
* Assist in bore development and redevelopment, including safe handling of chemicals
* Maintain and support upkeep of all drilling plant and equipment
* Use standard communication tools (email, phone), and adapt to field-related digital tools
* Represent Western Irrigation professionally, promoting services to clients under guidance
Qualifications & Experience
* Prior experience or technical knowledge in water well drilling (preferred)
* Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and delivering high-quality results
* Ability to follow procedures and contribute to a safe, efficient, and compliant work environment
* Willingness to learn and grow within a professional team setting
* Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.
* Ability to pass pre-employment medical and ongoing random drug/alcohol testing
* Manual drivers licence (required)
* Truck licence – HR preferred.
* First aid certificate and forklift ticket
