Water Quality Assistant

We are looking to recruit a Water Quality Assistant with a friendly and positive "can do" attitude to join our expanding team. You will perform routine non-complex work and be responsible for flushing all hot and cold water outlets within NHS and Trust owned or run properties in the surrounding area.
You will work in a team that prides itself on standards of work while carrying out varied work with an emphasis on quality finish to meet customers' high expectations.
Duties can include carrying out PPMs related to water system assets and communicating with work colleagues and managers throughout the Trust regarding work to be carried out using all relevant tools and equipment.
You will actively participate in the operation of the Maintenance Management System and be involved in training with fast response.
Main duties of the job
Perform routine maintenance activities and minor repairs as directed by management.
Flush hot and cold water outlets and take water samples for legionella in all areas of the Trust in line with legislation.
Work as part of a team, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.
Implement all safety measures to prevent danger, injury and damage to equipment.
Coordinate flushing of hot and cold water outlets in accordance with statutory regulations.
Carry out PPMs related to water system assets.
Assist qualified craftspersons on repair, PPM work and installation.
Use relevant tools and equipment and communicate required work to colleagues and managers.

Person specification
Qualifications
Numerate and literate.
Mechanical NVQ II.
Experience
Relevant experience of working in a maintenance environment.
Worked in a hospital or ward environment.
Knowledge
Basic knowledge of hot and cold water systems and associated equipment.
Familiar with hot and cold water systems and appliance.
Understanding of safe systems of work and current legislation.
Knowledge of HTMs.
Skills
Ability to follow a timetable of work.
Clear and concise communication with patients, managers and staff.
Use of radio devices and basic computer literacy with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Additional requirements
Ability to understand and behave at all times towards patients, visitors and colleagues in accordance with the Trust values of Safe, Kind, Excellent.
