Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Program
EMR is a consumer‑centred program that supports healthcare providers to perform their roles, enabling safety and quality to be at the heart of care for every consumer. The program has been established to digitally transform WA Health’s clinical information management systems by delivering a statewide EMR solution. The EMR is identified in the WA Health Digital Strategy 2020‑2030 as the digital keystone to modernising and improving healthcare across Western Australia.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Technical Director to join our diverse and highly skilled team. This is a fixed‑term appointment for 2 years from the date of commencement, with the possibility of extensions. As a member of the leadership team, the position is responsible for leading and managing this complex digital initiative and ensuring that the technical elements of the EMR are delivered, aligned with clinical, operational, financial, governance and technical requirements, and that implementation timelines are met while managing risks and issues related to the technical stream. The role collaborates closely with Clinical, Program Delivery and Financial & Commercial Directors, key stakeholders, including clinical leaders in Health Service Providers, technical teams, external vendors/partners and service providers to ensure the solution meets agreed specifications and standards, delivers intended benefits, and is scalable for future needs.
Key information for applicants
To be employed in the WA public sector you must be an Australian citizen, have permanent resident status in Australia, or have a visa that allows you to live and work in Australia for the period of your employment contract. WA Health policies require applicants to undertake a pre‑employment health assessment, criminal record screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment process.
