Electrical Technician Role
The position of Electrical Technician is key to the successful delivery of our rail projects.
As an Electrical Technician, you will play a vital part in the assembly, testing and commissioning of next-generation railcars. Your expertise in electrical systems will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our trains.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform precise electrical work, including wire cutting, labelling and termination.
* Install electrical looms and components in accordance with engineering drawings and work instructions.
* Conduct electrical testing, measurement and fault finding to ensure system integrity and performance.
* Support preventative maintenance activities across production systems.
* Respond to facility asset breakdowns and assist during equipment failures to minimise downtime.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet production and quality targets.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician.
* Knowledge of electrical rollingstock systems, manufacturing processes and specialised equipment, from production to electrical testing and commissioning (desired).
* Sound knowledge of Queensland electrical regulations and relevant Australian electrical standards.
* Ability to dismantle, repair, replace, assemble and fit engineering components.
* Skilled in precision electrical and electronic measurement.
* Experience in terminating and connecting electrical wiring, including electrical crimping.
* Capability to fault-find and repair electrical equipment and components operating up to 1000V AC / 1500V DC.
