Nepean Private Hospital is seeking experienced Perioperative Registered Nurses and Scrub Scouts to join our team with full-time and part-time positions within the following perioperative specialties. Work to suit your lifestyle with flexible rostering and a supportive Perioperative team. You will play a key role within a supportive team in ensuring high levels of patient care is provided.
About Nepean Private Hospital
Nepean Private Hospital is located in the multicultural Western Sydney City of Penrith. The hospital is a modern 109 bed facility providing a wide range of health services to the local community since 2000 including orthopaedics, spinal, gynaecology, ENT, plastics, urology and general surgery, endoscopy, cardiology, cardiac angiography and obstetrics. Nepean Private Hospital has eight operating theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheterisation theatre and an endoscopy suite, supported by a critical care unit which includes intensive care.
An exciting redevelopment and investment are underway to expand the hospital with new operating theatres, pre-admission area, sterilising department, foyer and retail space, consulting suites, refurbished main entry and recent car park. A Da Vinci Robot has been purchased to expand our complex surgery program. Nepean Private Hospital has an established reputation for high commitment to customer service, staff satisfaction and quality improvement.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, evidence-based standards of nursing care
- Supervise, direct and guide nursing team members (Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing) to deliver patient care
- Provide education and support to patients for management of health recovery, rehabilitation or end-of-life needs
- Lead quality improvement and safety management projects to achieve outcomes
- Work collaboratively with the wider healthcare team to support patient care needs
- Act as a role model for Safe Practice
- Contribute as a 3 years’ RN experience in Scrub/Perioperative Nursing with experience in Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, Spinal, Urology, or OR ENT surgery
Qualifications and Requirements
- Authority to work in Australia
- Working with Children Check
- Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
- Current Registration (no restriction) with AHPRA
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
- Clinical expertise and commitment to high quality patient care and continuous improvement
- Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a high-functioning team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Postgraduate Certificate or working towards in Perioperative Nursing

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2020 – 2024, a salary ranging from $35.46-$49.79 per hour.
