Myndshift Group has been engaged by our client partner, a respected mining contractor leading the restart of a major gold operation in North Queensland.
About the Role
Located approximately 150km south-west of Townsville, the Mt Carlton Gold Mine forms part of Charters Towers goldfield, one of Australia's most established gold-producing regions. As operations ramp up under new leadership, the site is entering an exciting new phase of production, creating strong opportunities for experienced tradespeople to be part of its next chapter.
We are seeking experienced Boilermakers with a strong background in heavy fabrication and structural repairs on mining mobile plant to join the maintenance team. This role will play a key part in maintaining the integrity and reliability of the site's heavy equipment fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform heavy fabrication, welding, and structural repairs on mobile plant and ancillary equipment
* Carry out planned maintenance and breakdown repairs on buckets, trays, booms, and structural components
* Interpret technical drawings and complete fabrication to specification
* Conduct inspections to identify wear, cracking, and structural defects
* Ensure all work is completed in line with site safety standards and procedures
* Complete maintenance reports and documentation accurately
About You:
* Trade qualified Boilermaker / Fabricator
* Demonstrated experience working on mining or heavy earthmoving equipment
* Strong skills in heavy fabrication, gouging, and structural welding
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
* Ability to work effectively within a team
