Responsibilities
* Work in a team environment within the Vehicle Engineering IPT and perform mechanical design for electronics packaging, enclosures, control panels, and junction boxes.
* Design sheet metal, machined, thermoformed, and 3D printed parts and contribute to equipment installation design.
* Review and control supplier equipment interface drawings, source control drawings, and support integration of electrical PCBs, cables, and components.
* Apply design standards such as AS50881, MIL‑HDBK‑454, MIL‑STD‑1472, MIL‑C‑81774, and MIL‑P‑7788 in all engineering drawings.
* Collaborate with pilots, human‑factors engineers, EMC/EMI/EE specialists, Avionics Integration, suppliers, electrical and power‑systems engineering, stress and thermal analysts, manufacturing engineering, and other disciplines.
* Coordinate with multi‑disciplined engineering teams to develop and validate solutions quickly and efficiently.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 4‑5 years of experience in electrical box design/installation on military and/or commercial aircraft.
* Master's Degree in STEM with 2 years of experience in electrical box design/installation on military and/or commercial aircraft.
Other Requirements
* Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top‑Secret Clearance (no prior clearance required for the initial stage).
* Self‑starter who can work with minimal direction.
* Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS‑Project, Visio).
* Proficiency in technical communication, both written and verbal.
* Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Qualifications
* STEM Degree (Science, Technical, Engineering or Mathematical).
* Ability to demonstrate independent creative thinking and problem‑solving capabilities.
* Experience designing and integrating components into larger systems.
* Experience managing projects (schedule and technical performance).
