About the role
The Environmental Services Department (ESD) Supervisor plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment for patients, staff and visitors at Sunshine Hospital. This position leads and coordinates Environmental Services staff to deliver high‐quality cleaning and support services, ensuring compliance with infection prevention standards and operational requirements. The role supports Western Health's commitment to providing exceptional, person‐centred care through a safe and hygienic healthcare environment.
Key responsibilities
* Lead and supervise Environmental Services staff, including Patient Services Assistants and cleaners
* Ensure all clinical and non‐clinical areas meet Victorian Health cleaning and hygiene standards
* Monitor service delivery, conduct audits and address compliance or performance issues
* Support infection control, occupational health and safety, and emergency response processes
* Coordinate support services such as waste management, linen handling, patient transport and stock control
About you
* Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or team leadership role within healthcare or a similar environment
* Strong understanding of cleaning standards, infection control and workplace safety practices
* Excellent communication skills with a commitment to high‐quality customer service
* Ability to prioritise workload, make sound decisions and work under pressure
* Competency in basic computer systems and a proactive, team‐oriented approach
