Job Summary The Press Brake Operator is responsible for the safe and accurate operation of CNC press brake machines to bend, form, and fabricate sheet metal components in accordance with engineering drawings and production requirements. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and workplace safety. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC press brake machines to bend and form sheet metal components Read and interpret engineering drawings, job sheets, and production plans Program CNC press brakes or select and modify existing programs as required Select appropriate tooling, dies, and settings for each job Measure and inspect components to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications Perform first‑off checks and ongoing quality inspections during production runs Adjust machine settings to correct issues and optimise output Perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting Handle materials safely and efficiently, including loading and unloading sheets Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment Comply with all workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements Collaborate with production, drafting, and quality teams to meet deadlines and standards Skills and Competencies Proven experience operating CNC press brakes in a sheet metal environment Strong understanding of bending processes, tolerances, and allowances Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements Experience with CNC controls (e.g. Amada, Trumpf, Bystronic, LVD, or similar) High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently Good time management and ability to meet production targets
