Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Tax Compliance and Planning Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns, ensuring compliance with Australian regulations.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare and review tax returns, ensuring compliance with Australian regulations;
* Support tax planning initiatives to optimise the organisation's financial position;
* Manage GST and BAS submissions accurately and on time;
* Provide advice on tax-related matters to internal stakeholders;
* Collaborate with the accounting and finance team to maintain accurate records;
* Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the department.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
* Proven experience in tax compliance and planning within the retail industry or a similar sector;
* Strong knowledge of Australian tax laws, including GST and BAS reporting;
* Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills;
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel;
* Excellent communication skills to explain complex tax matters clearly;
* Certification such as CPA or CA (or working towards) is highly regarded.
