Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and optimize complex ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) for data migration from existing MS SQL Server environments.
* Develop and maintain T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, and views for data extraction, transformation, and loading activities.
* Work extensively with Snowflake as a target data warehouse, including data loading (e.g., using
COPY INTO commands), data modeling, and query optimization within the Snowflake environment.
* Leverage Azure Cloud services, particularly Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Blob Storage/ADLS, for orchestration and staging of data during migration and ongoing data pipelines.
* Collaborate with existing teams to understand current SSIS and SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) implementations to ensure data availability and integrity for reporting requirements in the new data platform.
* Perform data reconciliation, validation, and implement robust data quality checks throughout the migration process.
* Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across source and target systems.
* Contribute to the design and architecture of the modernized data platform, focusing on scalability, performance, and reliability.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Extensive hands-on experience with MS SQL Server for database development, T-SQL scripting, and performance tuning.
* High level of proficiency in
SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) for complex ETL development and data migration.
* Demonstrated experience with
Snowflake data warehousing, including data loading, optimization, and dbt (data build tool) experience is a plus.
* Strong practical experience with
Azure Cloud services, specifically Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS).
* Familiarity with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) is required to understand existing reporting structures and ensure data readiness for new reporting solutions.
* Proven experience in large-scale
data migration projects, particularly from on-premises environments to cloud data platforms.
