Job Title: Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer (Azure)
Location: Canberra, ACT
Contract Duration: 12 months + 12-month extension
Security Clearance: NV1 (Mandatory)

About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer to support the design, deployment, and maintenance of secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and DevOps pipelines in a Microsoft Azure environment. This role will play a key part in delivering cloud-native solutions, supporting business-critical applications, and ensuring compliance with government security and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines for automated deployment and configuration of cloud resources.
- Deploy, configure, and support infrastructure in Azure subscriptions, including virtual machines, firewalls, and web application firewalls.
- Provide Level 3 support for Azure-hosted business applications and infrastructure.
- Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of a secure and scalable Azure hosting platform.
- Manage virtual infrastructure, Azure Data Factories, and other cloud-native services.
- Develop and maintain Terraform modules and code libraries using Agile methodologies.
- Support and advise on Microsoft cloud services including M365, Entra ID, Conditional Access, and Intune.
- Apply infrastructure changes securely and promptly, adhering to IT change management protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, project managers, and cybersecurity teams to ensure timely and compliant delivery.
- Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation for deployments and infrastructure services.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience managing large-scale Azure deployments and production environments.
- Strong expertise in Azure DevOps, Terraform, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, and Dynamics 365 administration and support.
- Experience working with developers and business stakeholders to deliver cloud-based solutions.
- Familiarity with government IT security frameworks (e.g., ACSC Essential Eight).
- Demonstrated ability to manage infrastructure change requests in compliance-driven environments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working with Azure Connect Hub or similar hybrid cloud integration technologies.
- Exposure to Agile delivery environments and DevOps best practices.

Casual Loading
