The Opportunity:
An opportunity has become available for a detail-oriented Finance Officer to join the team on a temporary basis. Reporting to senior finance leadership, this role will see you supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing across key finance functions.
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Managing accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, reconciliations, payment runs, and follow-up of outstanding accounts to ensure strong cash flow management.
* Assisting with month-end procedures, including preparation of journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting documentation to maintain accurate financial records.
* Processing bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies to ensure integrity of financial data.
* Supporting payroll processing and associated reporting requirements in line with relevant legislation and internal policies.
* Maintaining and updating financial records within the accounting system, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with organisational procedures.
* Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting requirements as directed by management.
* Liaising with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to resolve finance-related queries in a professional and timely manner.
Your Skills & Experience:
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
* Proven experience in a Finance Officer, Accounts Clerk, or similar finance support role within a busy environment.
* Strong working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger processes.
* Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with confidence working across financial systems.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
* A proactive, team-oriented approach with the ability to work autonomously when required.
