About the Role

This position allows for flexibility between working from home or one of our local offices. However, regular travel to meet with clients in the region will be required. You will receive ongoing support from a national Behaviour Intervention Support team, enabling you to develop and implement effective behaviour support plans and interventions. This ensures positive outcomes for clients while minimizing restrictive practices.

* Provide expert clinical knowledge and support to clients across various Life Without Barriers Disability programs as well as external providers
* Conduct comprehensive assessments (including data collection and analysis) of risk and behaviours of concern
* Design, deliver, and monitor interventions and strategies aimed at enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities who exhibit challenging behaviours
* Operate within NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission requirements, NDIA terms of business, and relevant State-Based Restrictive Practice Authorisation regulations
* Offer training and support to staff, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders on positive behaviour interventions, behaviour support plans, restrictive practices, risk, and safety planning
* Collaborate with all relevant stakeholders (including family members, staff, teachers, and healthcare professionals) to ensure optimal outcomes for clients


Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will possess:

* Tertiary qualifications in allied health fields such as Psychology, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, or equivalent experience meeting the NDIS Commission PBS Capability Framework requirements
* Experience working in a culturally sensitive manner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and/or willingness to learn and adapt to culturally appropriate approaches
* Monthly professional development sessions with Dr Jeffrey Chan

* Regular individual supervision and scheduled professional development opportunities
* Monthly rostered days off (for full-time applicants)
