SafeWork NSW is the state's workplace health and safety regulator. Our mission is to reduce work-related fatalities, injuries and illnesses by ensuring workplaces comply with health and safety laws. About the role:
This role leads critical compliance, licensing, and verification functions across high-risk regulatory environments, including dangerous goods, explosives, and major hazard facilities. You will manage high-volume operational teams, drive risk-based compliance initiatives, and ensure service delivery aligns with regulatory priorities.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing strategic leadership for licensing, auditing, and compliance programs
* Overseeing risk management and performance optimisation across multiple teams
* Engaging with stakeholders to deliver service improvements and regulatory outcomes
* Supporting digital and process reforms to enhance efficiency
About You:
We are seeking an accomplished and strategic senior leader with a proven ability to deliver results in complex regulatory, compliance, or service delivery environments. You are a collaborative and influential leader, bringing strong regulatory expertise, exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, and the capability to lead high-pressure, multifaceted operations. Experience in high risk sectors, along with a commitment to driving service improvement and innovation, will be highly valued.
