Regional Alliance West is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting individuals and families experiencing disadvantage across the Midwest, Murchison and Gascoyne regions of Western Australia. For over 40 years, we have delivered compassionate, community-driven services in some of the most remote and under-resourced parts of the state.
With a committed team of over 30 staff and volunteers, we operate 11 unique programs ranging from community legal outreach and counselling to advocacy and tailored support services. Our mission is simple: to provide accessible, practical support to empower individuals and strengthen communities.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and embedded within the Operations Team, the Finance Officer is responsible for the daily financial operations of RAW. This includes payroll, banking, accounts payable/receivable, bookkeeping, expense claims, statutory recordkeeping and lodgements (BAS/FBT/Workcover), reporting and audit management. Support to the CEO and management team to develop and monitor annual operating budgets, alongside supporting fleet management, are also encompassed within the role.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and payroll processing
* Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
* Preparing budgets and forecasts for existing and new programs
* Administer corporate card and expense processes in line with company policy, ensuring compliance and audit readiness
* Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies
* Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing efficient systems and controls
* Collaborating with the management team to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making

Qualifications and Requirements
* Minimum 3 years\' experience in a senior bookkeeping or accounting role, preferably in a small-to-medium-sized business
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and MYOB
* Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
* Proficient in financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
