MER Consult Pty Ltd is the registered company for the provision of consulting services by Marcus Rooney – an experienced professional for over 25 years with a strong track record in the early-stage development of infrastructure projects and programs. MER Consult has been operating successfully in the WA infrastructure market since July 2020. Clients are typically State Government agencies and departments including Government Trading Enterprises. Infrastructure sector coverage currently includes transport (rail, ports, roads, electric buses and 'active transport'), sports, health, education and renewable energy, but our services are applicable to any other infrastructure sector.
Overview
The role provides the opportunity to gain valuable experience from a respected infrastructure advisory consultant to support your career growth as a strategic advisor, investment analyst or senior manager in the infrastructure sector.

The work we will do together will be challenging, stimulating and often creative as no two projects are the same. You will be involved in everything that the company does; from winning work, to meeting with clients and delivering engagements focused on infrastructure investment decision making and governance.
This role will be the first employee of the company. It is an exciting opportunity to help shape the company and influence its future. There is no expectation of in-depth experience, substantial 'on the job' training will be provided. Formal external training may also be available to add specific skills.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role located in the Central Perth Area for the position of Infrastructure Consultant. Responsibilities include leading infrastructure project planning and execution, providing consulting services, and delivering expert advice in infrastructure management. Tasks include developing business cases and feasibility studies, stakeholder engagement, synthesising data and information, collaborating with diverse teams, supporting procurement and risk assessment. The role also involves engaging with clients and other consultants to meet project goals.
To be successful you will need to be:
* interested in the planning and delivery of infrastructure projects;
* willing to learn, have a strong worth ethic, value delivering high quality outcomes for clients and to take initiative;
* comfortable with analysis and numbers;
* able to work collaboratively with clients and other consultants; and
* able to produce concise, informative written material for reports and workshops.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required. Suitable degrees include engineering and planning but other degrees will be considered including economics, finance and commerce.
Consulting experience is not necessarily required for this junior role but it will be an advantage if you have worked in the infrastructure sector.
