Established in 1983, CEA is an Australian company that designs, develops, manufactures and sustains advanced active phased array radar systems. We collaborate with Defence to develop highly modular and scalable products that have become integral to a broad range of critical Defence capabilities.
The Position
To produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records and maintaining equipment and supplies.
Key responsibilities:
* Work directly with shift supervisors on shift hand over to ensure correct process is maintained.
* Programming using CADCAM Software and editing programs as required.
* Building complex fixture assemblies based on Solidworks assembly drawings & instructions.
* Setting up and maintain tooling based on SolidCAM tool library information.
* Supervise the machines while they execute the toolpaths and make any necessary adjustments or improvements to ensure compliant first parts.
* Inspect and measure in process & finished products and compare them with part requirements
* Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.
* Operating within CEA's quality Production, Engineering, Quality Management and WHS standards.
* Perform factory and administrative duties as directed.
* Setting and loading of CNC machines when required.
About You
Must be eligible to successfully apply and maintain a Baseline AGSVA clearance. A requirement of this clearance is to be an Australian Citizen.
CNC Machinist with a minimum of 5 year post trade Computer Numerical Control (CNC) experience or completion of Certificate IV Engineering CNC.
Meticulous attention to detail, ability to maintain focus and sound hand/eye coordination skills.
Competent in use of Manual Machining, CNC Machining, Fitting and Fabrication and precision Measuring tools, hand tools at an advanced level.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
Competent in use of Microsoft applications including Excel/Word.
Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
Ability to make sound decisions to ensure compliant parts, safety and consistency
Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing organisation priorities and ambiguous environments.
Current First Aid accreditation.
Eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA clearance – Baseline
