Green Light Worldwide have a requirement with our client partner for a System Engineer join their team a 3-month assignment with possible extensions
Responsibilities:
* Manage, maintain, and support enterprise backup and restore platforms (software & hardware).
* Handle backup/restore incidents, service requests, and change activities.
* Ensure system availability, integrity, security, and performance.
* Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventative improvements.
* Maintain and improve system documentation, processes, and knowledge articles.
* Provide technical guidance and uplift for Service Desk teams.
* Ensure compliance with infrastructure, security, and QMS standards.
Requirements:
* Strong experience with enterprise backup tools (Rapid Recovery, Veeam).
* Knowledge across VDI, Windows, Unix/Linux (RedHat), VMware, Hyper‑V, Citrix, networking fundamentals, and HP/Dell storage.
* Minimum 3 years in systems engineering, including monitoring and reporting.
* Ability to analyse and improve system performance proactively.
* Strong documentation and process development capabilities.
* Good communication and collaborative mindset.
* Desirable
: Scripting (PowerShell, Python, VB), cloud (Azure/AWS), Agile/DevOps experience, vendor management.
* Degree in IT or related discipline, Systems Engineer certification, ITIL Practitioner.
* Desirable
certifications
: MCSE/MCSA, AWS DevOps Pro, SCCM experience.
