About Justice

When you join the Department of Justice, you become part of a people-focused organisation, working hard to make our community a fairer and safer place to live. We offer many different employment opportunities in locations around Western Australia. You will have a chance to make a real difference to your local communities and to the lives of those you work with.

About The Role

Ready for a fresh challenge that will expand your nursing skills and make a real difference?

Step beyond traditional hospital or community nursing roles and into a rewarding role within a correctional healthcare setting at Greenough Regional Prison, an adult correctional facility located just outside the coastal town of Geraldton, Western Australia. Geraldton offers an enviable coastal lifestyle with easy access to the breathtaking landscapes of the Mid West region and Coral Coast.

In this role, you'll work at the forefront of care coordination, disease prevention and management, and health promotion, as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team. Every day brings variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to positively impact the health and wellbeing of a diverse and complex population.

As a nurse within Corrective Services, you will deliver culturally safe primary healthcare and emergency response to adults in custody. You'll be well supported by an experienced and established team and enjoy a balanced roster of 12-hour day shifts across a fortnight, offering both professional satisfaction and work–life balance.

We're looking for nurses with experience in emergency care, general practice, Aboriginal health, or remote/community nursing, who are immunisation competent. While experience in a correctional or detention setting is an advantage, it's not essential a comprehensive support and orientation will be provided.
