The Role

As a Commercial Services Officer, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service while supporting the effective management of trade waste and tankered waste services. This role is responsible for understanding, interpreting and consistently applying the trade waste and tankered waste management framework, ensuring compliance while providing clear, practical guidance to customers and stakeholders.

Working closely with internal teams, customers and industry partners, you will build positive relationships, respond to enquiries, and help deliver commercially focused solutions that balance customer needs with operational and regulatory requirements.

* Undertake site inspections of trade waste customers to understand customer business processes including future plans where relevant, the trade waste characteristics and associated risks to mitigate impacts on the sewer network, including the need for suitable pre-treatment
* Maintain a strong knowledge of the water industry and regulatory framework relating to Trade Waste Operations
* Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors and internal stakeholders to support effective service delivery and issue resolution.
* Identify premises that generate trade waste

What we're looking for

We are looking for a customer-focused and detail-oriented professional who can confidently manage enquiries and apply policies and processes in a consistent and practical way. You will have strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external stakeholders. A proactive approach, sound problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to interpret and explain technical or regulatory information clearly will help you succeed in this role. Experience in commercial, customer service, compliance or operational environments will be highly regarded.

* Formal tertiary qualifications in relevant technical discipline or equivalent demonstrated experience
* Thorough understanding of trade waste, tankered waste and sewage collection and treatment systems
* High level proficiency in MS Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point)
* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate records.

The Details

This role can be based in Launceston and attracts a salary of $96,694 - $102,066 (inclusive of superannuation), negotiable dependent on experience.
