Maintenance Engineering Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Melbourne.
* Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing and managing preventive and breakdown maintenance schedules.
* The ideal candidate will take ownership of the site's maintenance strategy by planning, scheduling, and executing both preventive and reactive maintenance activities.
* They will act as the owner of the site's SAP-based system, ensuring accurate asset records and maintenance history.
* Additionally, they will coordinate daily maintenance operations and lead weekly planning meetings with production teams to align maintenance schedules with operational demands.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage both preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
* Take ownership of the site's maintenance strategy by planning, scheduling, and executing both preventive and reactive maintenance activities.
* Act as the owner of the site's SAP-based system, ensuring accurate asset records and maintenance history.
* Coordinate daily maintenance operations and lead weekly planning meetings with production teams to align maintenance schedules with operational demands.
* Generate detailed weekly and monthly reports that track plan adherence, contractor performance, and completed work.
* Manage the site's spare parts inventory to ensure critical components are always available when needed.
* Coordinate weekly planning meetings with production teams and generate adherence reports.
* Manage and assign contractors to maintenance tasks based on urgency and priority.
* Ensure all contractor work complies with site health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.
* Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for all significant equipment failures or recurring issues.
* Implement corrective actions and report on RCA KPIs monthly.
Requirements:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a maintenance engineering role.
* Experience with SAP or similar CMMS platforms.
* Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance.
* Proven ability to manage contractors and maintenance budgets.
* Familiarity with safety compliance and regulatory standards.
* Excellent communication and coordination skills.
