Are you an Application Support or Automation or OT professional who enjoys solving technical problems that directly impact production?
This role sits at the heart of factory operations, supporting a critical manufacturing application that connects machinery, automation systems, inventory platforms, and ERP to keep production running smoothly. You'll work hands-on with software that directly impacts how factories operate day to day.
If you've worked with PLCs, SCADA, MES, automation systems, or industrial software and enjoy troubleshooting how systems interact in the real world, this role offers a unique step into software without losing touch with the factory floor.
Because this software supports live production, the role includes regular site visits across Australia and New Zealand, typically 30–50% travel.
What You'll Be Doing
* Support and troubleshoot a core manufacturing application used in live production
* Diagnose issues across software, automation systems, machinery interfaces, and ERP
* Use SQL to investigate data issues, system behaviour, and production anomalies
* Work closely with production, engineering, and technical teams to resolve incidents
* Configure and maintain application workflows, rules, and integrations
* Support system upgrades, enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives
* Travel to customer sites across Australia and New Zealand to support operations
What You'll Bring
This role is not pure ERP or office-based IT support.
You'll bring experience from industrial, manufacturing, or automation environments, including some of the following:
* Hands-on SQL experience, writing queries and troubleshooting data issues
* Background in Automation, Controls, PLCs, SCADA, MES, HMI, or industrial application support
* Experience working in or supporting production, manufacturing, or operational systems
* Ability to troubleshoot issues across software, data flows, and machine interfaces
* Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
* Comfortable working with operators, engineers, and technical teams
* Willingness to travel regularly, up to 30–50%
* Motivation to learn a complex, bespoke software platform over time
* Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (preferred)
This role suits:
* Automation or Controls Engineers moving closer to software
* Application Support specialists wanting exposure to production systems
* OT or industrial IT professionals looking to deepen system and data expertise
Why You'll Love This Role
* Work with software that directly powers real factory operations
* Rare blend of automation, production, and software skills
* Long-term learning path in a bespoke manufacturing platform
* Supportive, experienced technical team within a global organisation
* Travel across Australia and New Zealand
* Hybrid working once established
* Strong career pathway into industrial software, systems, or integration roles
