Position Summary
1. Attends to the following as may be assigned from time to time by Corporate Legal: corporate governance and non-gaming regulatory, risk management, contract, corporate, and employer-employee law matters
2. Engages and monitors outside counsel in litigation, commercial, and labor matters
3. There will be some APAC interaction as and when required, experience in this area is favourable
4. Participates in policy-development in conjunction with LnW Corporate Counsel
5. Serves as the Company representative to trade associations
6. Provides legal advice and counsel to senior Company management and personnel in diverse matters affecting day-to-day business as well as on legal risk and strategies in a variety of regional gaming transactions, arrangements and relationships
7. Prepares and executes legal documents
8. Serves as the Company’s principal Legal Counsel, as this is a standalone role with dual reporting lines to both Australia and the US
9. Participates in negotiations for third party contracts, proposals, new ventures and dispositions
10. Under the direction of LnW Corporate Counsel, participates in litigation matters, investigations and trials and provides support on employment and labour relations matters
11. Works in collaboration with and under the guidance of Light & Wonder Corporate Counsel
12. Flexibility in working hours due to APAC interaction and managing relationships globally, some unsocialble hours as and when required
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
13. Strong organisational, administrative, and communication skills
14. Knowledge of ASX and handling of ASX related matters
15. Australia securities law experience
16. Good judgment and ability to act as a trusted legal and business advisor to executive team and business unit leadership teams.
17. Strong interpersonal skills
18. Ability to judge character, distinguish relevant facts, assimilate and analyse facts, and apply legal techniques
19. Ability to make decisive, sound judgments
20. Proficient negotiation skills
21. Ability to resolve complex legal issues
22. High level of interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills, and ability to communicate complex legal issues to non-legal personnel
23. Ability to consult and provide professional advice in a commercial context
24. Ability to analyse processes and think strategically
25. Ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines
Experience, Education and Qualification:
26. Bachelor of Laws Degree (or equivalent)
27. A minimum 5 years post-admission legal experience, with a minimum of 2 years relevant private practice experience
28. Unrestricted practising certificate
29. Current New South Wales solicitor practicing certificate
30. Solicitor admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of New South Wales
31. Law office administration experience
32. Knowledge of business, corproate governance, employment and gaming law and (preferred) gaming law in Australia, Macau, Singapore and other jurisdictions
