Position Title: Adolescent Forensic Mental Health, Community Integration Team Clinician - Aboriginal Identified (HP3/CNS2/PSYCH) - Tamworth Justice Health - PFT
This is a dedicated Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander position. Applicants must be able to prove Aboriginal descent through parentage, identification as being an Aboriginal person and being accepted in the community as such. Exemption is claimed under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act. The Role
This position is an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team and addresses the health needs of young people released from custody to transition to the community. It focuses on culturally safe, trauma-informed care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth with mental health and/or substance use needs.
This is a position identified for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people on the basis of a genuine occupational qualification under section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977. Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander applicants must demonstrate Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander status in addition to addressing the selection criteria.
Essential Requirements
* For allied health staff:
o Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in occupational therapy and hold general registration with Occupational Therapy Board of Australia under Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra),
o Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in social work and hold or be eligible for professional membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW),
o Minimum of a four-year accredited psychology degree and hold general registration with Psychology Board of Australia under Ahpra,
o Djirriwang Program, Bachelor of Health Science (Mental Health).
* For Nursing staff:
o Registered Nurse with current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia with post registration qualifications relevant to the position,
o Minimum of at least 3 years' full time equivalent experience in the management of clients with mental health conditions, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
* Valid unrestricted drivers' license for use in NSW/Australia.
* Valid NSW Employee Working With Children Check.
