Clinical Assistant / Ophthalmic Technician
OKKO Eye Specialist Centre – Auchenflower & Upper Mt Gravatt
We are seeking a caring and motivated Casual Ophthalmic Assistant / Technician to support our surgeons and clinical team in delivering exceptional surgical eye care to our patients.
This is a hands-on, patient-facing clinical role suited to someone who enjoys both the technical and personal aspects of healthcare and thrives in a busy clinical environment
Availability to work across both Auchenflower and Upper Mt Gravatt clinic locations is required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Include:
* Supporting patient flow and attending to patient needs during clinic visits
* Conducting patient preliminary assessments (history-taking, visual acuity, intraocular pressure checks)
* Operating ophthalmic diagnostic equipment
* Conducting visual tests
* Instillation of eye drops
* Assisting ophthalmologists with minor procedures and intravitreal injections
* Assisting with minor procedure set-up and clean-up
* Supporting pre- and post-operative patient pathways
* Preparing clinical rooms and maintaining a clean, well-stocked environment
* Maintenance of medical stock supplies and processing of clinical instruments

* Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical setting

* Candidates must have Australian work rights.
Experience in ophthalmology, optical, or healthcare roles is highly regarded but not essential — full training will be provided.
Remuneration will be determined based on relevant experience.
