About the role
We are looking for a Senior Health Advisor / Registered Nurse - Occupational Health to support the Injury & Illness Management Team within IOC's Occupational Health department. The role is based in Labrador City, NL.
Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Team Management: Provide effective leadership to the Injury & Illness Management team by setting clear expectations, offering feedback, coaching, and development, and establishing efficient and effective team processes.
2. Program Planning and Policy Development: Contribute to policy development and the annual planning of Occupational Health activities and projects to align with organizational goals, expectations, and objectives.
3. Injury & Illness Management: Facilitate the return-to-work process for injured or ill employees, reviewing and providing support related to medical care, rehabilitation, and accommodations.
4. Health Promotion and Education: Develop and implement health promotion programs, designing and delivering programs on health topics relevant to the workforce.
5. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with management, employees, and other stakeholders to identify and address health concerns.
6. Compliance and Professional Responsibility: Ensure proper documentation of all employee health information in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
What you'll bring
* Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent
* Currently licensed and in good standing with CRNNL
* Relevant up-to-date training and certifications (BLS-HCP, ACLS, etc.) are assets
* Experience in Occupational Health or leadership roles is an asset
* Experience with electronic medical records and Microsoft 365 applications is an asset
* Organized, self-directed, able to work in a fast-paced environment managing competing priorities
* Adaptable, efficient, collaborative
* Excellent communication and influencing skills

Where you'll be working
Our operations include a mine with five pits, a concentrator, and a pelletizing plant near Labrador City, NL. We also operate the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway linking our Labrador operations to port facilities in Sept-Iles.
