Assistant Coordinator
The YMCA Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) is a dynamic and growing organisation with over 50 services across the South East region. As an Assistant Coordinator, you will be part of a team that prioritises community and belonging, children's agency, and spontaneous, multi-age play in middle childhood.
Our OSHC service at Boondall State Primary School is licensed for 150 children and offers Before School Care, After School Care, and Vacation Care between the hours of 6:30am and 6pm. We provide a range of planned and spontaneous play experiences for children and welcome educators with unique skill sets to share with children.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Service Coordinator with the day-to-day running of the service and management of a team of Educators.
2. Develop quality programs that meet the needs of children and their families.
3. Manage the day-to-day running of the programs, ensuring compliance with policy and regulations.
4. Support the Coordinator with staff management, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
5. Undertake administrative requirements, including documentation, reporting, and communication with families and the school community.
Selection Criteria:
* Completed (or close to completion) of relevant qualifications in Childcare or Teaching (Minimum of Diploma in Children Services).
* Demonstrated experience in assisting with programming and a passion for providing quality childcare.
* Demonstrated experience in maintaining effective administration and correct documentation in an OSHC service.
* Excellent customer service skills and ability to work collaboratively with families and the school community.
* First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
* Certificate of Suitability to work with Children and Young People (Blue Card) or willingness to obtain.
* NQF knowledge would be advantageous.
