**About The Team**
- The Strategy and Planning Manager will support the Corporate Development & Group Strategy Team and key executives to manage strategic projects, prepare clear recommendations and business cases for consideration, meet with external parties and represent PEXA and the strategy team.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- ** Work collaboratively with the PEXA Strategy Team to**:
- Manage strategic projects - Manage strategic projects and work collaboratively with various internal and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
- Business planning/business case development - Work with PEXA senior management, and internal and external stakeholders on PEXA's business planning process and business case development.
- Research and analysis - Consultatively working with all areas of the business to proactively solve strategic business problems. This includes gathering data, documenting trouble areas and using proven, structured methodologies to analyse the data gathered and provide solutions to key business problems.
- Collaborate with different teams and departments to provide expertise and insight
- Data gathering (including Big Data), complex analysis, strategic thinking and documentation to test out hypothesis-driven opportunity identification, including leading the team towards best practices in the following:
- _ Performing industry research using publicly available data sources_
- _ Requisitioning and purchasing private data sources to provide research and analysis_
- _ Using data mining tools to collect data for further research and analysis_
- _ Work collaboratively with programmers to create tools to collect and analyze data_
- _ Manipulating data using data analysis tools to discover insights_
- _ Generating and delivering reports from data analysis_
- _ Offering suggestions and direction from analysis to help guide organization decision-makers_
- Understanding of key PEXA value drivers and the interaction of this relative to the domestic and international markets to monitor and identify new trends and engage with external parties and potential partners, including financial implications
- Identification and assessment of new business growth opportunities, which may include organic growth through new product developments and markets, and new businesses through mergers and acquisitions (working closely with the Corporate Development team)
- Maintain PEXA knowledge base of existing and emerging companies and technologies relevant to PEXA's eco-system in Australia and overseas; and
- Any other task compatible with skills and experience as directed by the CEO or other ELT members to meet strategic organisational objectives.
**Skills & Experience**:
- Demonstrated experience in strategy and/or innovation roles for a major organisation and/or respected management consulting firm
- Relevant undergraduate degrees, such as Engineering, Accounting (CA / CPA) and corporate finance qualifications desirable (e.g. CFA, Masters of Finance)
- Working knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools, such as Microsoft PowerBI and Tableau desirable
- Significant attention to detail and an ability to quickly spot and fix problems
- Detail-oriented, outcome-driven with strict attention and appreciation for deadlines and the ability to get across the detail
- Strong business acumen and analytical capability with excellent commercial judgement and experience
- Excellent writing and verbal communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical and strategic thinking capabilities including experience performing various forms of online research and current knowledge of data mining tools and techniques
- Known for a high degree of integrity and trust
- Confident to challenge and question
