Division: Community and Economic Development Network Location: Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre Employment status: Casual Classification: DKHAC Level 3 Agreement: Hobart City Council Enterprise Agreeme nt 2024 Salary range: $41.36 per hour, inclusive of 20% of casual loading 13.5% superannuation. About the role We are looking for passionate and energetic Learn to Swim Instructors to join the team at the Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre! If you enjoy working with people, love the pool, and want to make a real difference in your community, this role is for you. Whether you are an experienced instructor or just starting your journey in the aquatics industry, we would love to hear from you. Role accountabilities include: Conducting high quality classes in accordance with the DKHAC Aquatic Program practices and procedures. Ensuring classes are prepared for, both administratively and in practice. Ensuring aquatic equipment is maintained in good working order. Delivering professional and responsive communication to customer enquiries. You are a team player who can also handle things on your own when needed. You communicate well, stay organised, and keep a cool head even when the pool gets busy. You bring good vibes, adapt quickly, and always try to learn and grow. Most of all, you show up with energy, positivity, and a smile and ready to make every class awesome! We are looking for casual people to join our team who fulfil the below qualifications required include: Swimming and Water Safety Teacher (SISSS00112) qualification covering. Perform basic water rescues (SISCAQU002). Instruct water familiarisation, buoyancy and mobility skills (SISCAQU008). Instruct clients in water safety and survival skills (SISCAQU009). Instruct swimming strokes (SISCAQU010). Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (HLTAID009). Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People. Whilst experience is preferred, we welcome applications from people who love working with kids in a fun, team-based environment and who are ready to seek new knowledge. We would ideally love it if you were available for up to 7 days to cover our existing group fitness classes and gym floor shifts, however, also understand that sometimes life just happens. Our ideal candidate will be flexible, and we would also work with you for when you need your days off.
