Job Overview
As a Senior Policy Analyst, you will play a crucial role in developing policy positions and conducting research to support evidence-based advocacy. You will represent our organization at key sector and political forums, building relationships of trust with government officials, peak bodies, and other policy influencers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Analyze government policies to determine their impacts on our operations and objectives.
* Develop advocacy plans for specific government relations campaigns.
* Build and manage relationships of trust with Ministers, Ministerial staff, Opposition frontbenchers, Members of Parliament, Senators, public officials, peak bodies, third-party advocates, and other policy influencers.
* Prepare submissions for government policy reviews, proposed legislation, and other government consultative processes, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to source content and make recommendations on our positions on key policy debates.
Requirements:
* A degree with substantial relevant experience or extensive experience and policy expertise in tertiary education or other complex regulatory environments.
* A sound understanding and knowledge of policy, operations, and emerging trends in the tertiary education sector in Australia.
