FourQuarters has partnered with an expanding firm who are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to take a hands-on leadership role. This position combines strong technical accounting and tax expertise with day-to-day practice management, staff supervision, and client relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee daily operations, workflow planning, and lodgement schedules
* Prepare and review tax returns (individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships), BAS/IAS, payroll and financial statements
* Manage a portfolio of SME and not-for-profit clients, including client meetings and advisory support
* Supervise and mentor accounting and administration staff
* Provide technical guidance and ensure compliance with ATO, TPB and professional standards
* Drive process improvements, documentation, and operational efficiencies
* Support client onboarding, practice growth, and business development initiatives
About You
* 5+ years' experience in public practice (business services)
* CA or CPA qualified (or working towards)
* Strong hands-on tax and compliance experience
* Proven ability to manage workflows and supervise staff
* Experience with Xero, MYOB or similar
* Solid knowledge of Australian taxation and regulatory requirements
* Confident communicator with strong client management skill
