The Role
The Principal Consultant will provide expert advice on a range of complex human resource matters, including case management, industrial relations and employee relations matters, and leads organisational reviews and other people and culture improvement projects.
The Principal Consultant ensures the successful implementation of projects by exercising judgement, using initiative, understanding public sector human resource frameworks and applying well developed project management skills and techniques. Projects are associated with recruitment, selection, case management, and variety of other workforce management related strategies.
The Principal Consultant supports and grows team capabilities by providing advice and coaching to other members of the People and Culture team, as well as managers and leaders across the agency. The role will involve line managing a small HR Operations team.
About You
To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities:
* Experience in managing complex public sector Employee Relations cases and dispute resolution involving industrial bodies, management, employees or government agencies.
* Experience in managing and undertaking research and analysis, providing advice and making recommendations for action.
* Experience in supervising and managing staff members within a team environment.
* Experience in delivering complex projects relating to public sector human resources.
* Experience in managing and undertaking research and analysis, providing advice and making recommendations for action.
Desirable Qualification
Tertiary qualification in Human Resource management, organisational psychology or equivalent.
Special Conditions
Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 3 years.
Remuneration
ASO7 $108,109 min - $116,864 max
